Retired master tech here, I enjoyed your style and your repair worked, good job. However the rusty side cutters you used distracts the art of the repair. A metal brush, some WD40 and a wipe down would greatly enhance the ambience of the video.

Not sure if anyone still monitors this thread but I have a question. During the tear-down process, those 2 hard to reach bolts that you need to use the long extensions for, any tips or tricks as far as getting them back in without falling off the socket?

Take a brush and dip it into that used transmission fluid and brush all those areas that are wanting to get rusty it will add extra protection and stop rust from advancing

I was looking at my granddaughter's 2017 fusion,where she had a collision that damages her driverside bumper and fender. I noticed that they are torn-out holes holes under the bottom that the bumper is secured. What is the name of that part, I would like to replace it. Is that you called the underbody cover?

Tips from my engine swaps: Be very careful removing the wiper assembly. The windshield hangs over in such a way that it would be easy to chip it. If something is not coming out or going in properly, take a step back and figure out why, do not just force it. Using the correct tool, or combination of tools will save you a lot of frustration. Bungee chords are good for getting hoses and harnesses out of the way. Battery operated rechargeable lights/tools are your friends. If you do not have someone to bring you food and check on you, get some high energy/ high calorie food before starting to have on hand. Plenty of healthy fluids/electrolytes on hand as well. More food and liquids than you think you'll need. Rest if you notice you're fatigued and are starting to make mistakes or getting clumsy. Before you rest, make sure you get to a good stopping point. Don't halfway complete a step or multiple steps, especially during installation. Having a couple different types of gloves readily available is nice. Your skin is permeable and will absorb chemicals. A face covering for the dust. Quality non fogging eye protection! If you're going to drink beer, wait until you're done. Happy engine swapping. 🤓

I found this video because The Car Care Nut mentioned that someone on UA-cam did a 2gr engine removal without a car lift. Very impressive what you have done: both the fact that you did it, and that you caught the eye of a big time youtuber (a professional Toyota certified mechanic with a working shop) .

Some people stuff a towel or big rag into the void just below the spark plug holes, so you *can't* drop stuff down there. Also, Amazon sells a nice long-shaft 14mm wobble with a magnet and rubber gasket built-in, so the plug itself gets retained firmly on extraction.

Interior work under the dash is my least favorite part of automotive work. 🥵 This video was top notch. 👌 How you got a head mounted camera up under the dash to film this impressive all by itself. To other viewers, normally you have to spend a LOT more pain and suffering on this job by disassembling the entire dash. Props to HappyWrenching for figuring out a safe shortcut. (Pun intended) 🔧 🍻

You're the only one that tells us to disconnect the Steering Shaft when lowering the Subframe. Is that part totally necessary as noone else mentions it.? I have to do this job soon on my womans car so gathering up all i can beforehand.
